Stella
Stella Matthews had come to the home improvement store to see if she could scavenge anything to build a makeshift fence. She had only wanted to see if she could keep a completely blocked path to the creek behind her shelter. That's all. But, no. She had to be an idiot. She should have known that the home improvement store was going to have more than just a few walkers. The place wasn't crawling with them, though. She could probably get out of this one. Well, more like she could have. When she had first entered, she hadn't seen or heard anything, or anyone. So, per the usual on a raid, she had planned on making a small noise and then hiding close to the door so that she could escape if there were more than she could handle. That was the routine. Had been since she had lost her brother.
Stella had grabbed one of the carts and rolled it into a shelf, and then ducked behind a counter. The closest counter. Which had just so happened to have a zombie slumbering peacefully behind it. Her only thought had been 'Why am I an idiot?' as it lunged at her. She should have just stabbed it in the head. Instead, she screamed. And then stabbed it in the head. A string of whispered curse words flew from her mouth as she peeked over the counter to see how many more were coming at her. At least four or five more came around the corner to the direction of her screech.
More curse words came out of her mouth, in a much more panic toned. Tears pricked her eyes from sheer anxiety. She looked towards the door, and her bike. The zombies were closer to that than trying to go around them and try and find another way out. So, that was the route she took. Which was stupid, stupid, stupid. She ran into another one on her way. Fortunately, she deftly pulled out her machete and struck a blow square in the center of it's head, pulling the blade back out and continuing on her way. The back storage rooms were chained and locked with writing on it saying "DO NOT ENTER". She let out a frustrated, panicked sigh and ran towards the restrooms. Surly to goodness, there had to be a window in there.
And that is how she ended up in a bathroom, locked in, scared to death and crying. 'I don't know how I can make it out of here.' Her thoughts began to spiral. She shook it off and thought harder. She could lure them one at a time, somehow.... No. Probably not. Her only other thought was to cut her hand and smear some blood close to the door and she could stab them through the crack in the door. But she wasn't sure she could do that one either. "Shit." She murmured, pacing back and forth. She had no one to call for help. She recalled her last encounter where she had run into a young woman named Imara. 'Why couldn't one of those blessings have shown up this time?' Stella wondered to herself. She was trapped.
