Landra Shepard
Can't live without the Fire
There are several very important things to know about Landra, but one stands above the rest - she's
not out to survive, she's out to kill as many walkers as she possibly can. She just happens to know that the
longer she lives, the more of them she can kill before they get to her. Don't judge her too harshly for her hatred
though, as she has several very good reasons. Parents, brother, even husband, but those aren't unusual
losses. They're all things everyone's had to face and learn to live with. The violent rage that fills
her at the presence of the horde comes from the loss of her daughter.
Worse than dead.
Turned.
It's the Heat that keeps you strong
All that hate trying to burn her alive did have an interesting effect on the shy, outdoorsy secretary
though. Suddenly she's bold, determined, and steadier than she's ever been. Filled with a deadly purpose and
with nothing left to lose she's gone from meek and submissive to brave, resourceful, and relentless. Cold patience perhaps
more frightening than rage offer a tactical advantage in what has become a slow but bloody war combined with an intellect that
was always keen sharpened into a deadly weapon and not inconsiderable skill as a hunter and tracker have made her an
efficient killer, far better to have as an ally than an enemy.
Born to live and Fight it
Her own better nature is still in there, somewhere. Automatic trust has long vanished from her, but only
the very foolish trust quickly anymore anyway. The wife, sister, daughter, mother in her is still alive and very
much willing to offer those who earn it a chance. All her malice is saved solely for the walkers. Humans she is more
than willing to help as long as they're not a threat to her war on the dead, though she will always insist
that it is only because every human that lives is one that can keep killing walkers. But there is still
warmth and gentleness in there somewhere.
Buried very, very deep.
Can't hide what lies Inside
A painful combination of loss, fatalism, and anger bordering on obsession have kept her alone since the loss of
her family. Landra is and has always been a social creature, however, and as detached as she may have become from
the maternal gentleness that once defined her she still places a great deal of value in life - just not hers. While her own goal
of simply taking as many walkers down with her as she can possibly manage prevents her from joining a clan she is still
very prone to helping those she comes across. Bitter is not the same as hateful after all, and even quiet people
can still enjoy the company of those not trying to eat their flesh. If anything, her own admitted social
degeneration of late has made her even more patient with people than she was before.
Anyone interested in threading with Landra just let me know! I'm up for anything, and everything you need to know about her is right up there in the above paragraphs. She's also officially taken up residence in the junkyard for the time being, if that helps with plotting
